RESIGNINGS: After the first year (and each subsequent year), players will be given a determined salary based on their Fantrax Score Rank (listed below).
The owner may accept the salary to keep the player or decline it and let him go to free agency. If the owner chooses to keep the player, they must choose for how many years up to a maximum of 5 years.
Owners may resign a maximum of 10 players in the first offseason. The total number of contract years for these 10 players combined can not exceed 30.
For each subsequent offseason, the owner may resign a maximum of 2 players. The total number of contract years for these 2 players combined can not exceed 6. The deadline for resigning all players is April 16 at 6:00 pm(ET).
NOTE: You may only resign players that are in the final year of their contract.
ROOKIE RESIGNINGS: If a rookie becomes an RFA for a second time, he will go straight to Restricted Free Agency
Salary Ranks are as follows: (Using Jamie Benn as an example)
The formula for determining a salary is a players score divided by 100.
So Jamie Benn's score (1275) divided by 100 is 12.75
So, in order to resign Jamie Benn, you would have to pay 12.75m per year.
INJURED/SUSPENDED PLAYERS SCORE: In some cases an injured/suspended player will have a low fantrax score due to not playing many games. (Example: Carey Price). In order to qualify for a fantrax score, a skater must have atleast 50 GP and a Goalie must have atleast 40 GP. If a player doesnt have the minimum GP requirement, his score will revert back to the last season in which he did meet the minimum GP requirement. For example:
2015-16 Season - Carey Price (12 GP) - 973 Score (Does not meet minimum requirement, revert back one year)
2014-15 Season - Carey Price (66 GP) - 1272 Score (Does meet requirement, so this is the players official score for the 2015-16 Season)
NOTE: If a player has never met the GP requirement, he will receive the average salary. The average salary is the max salary allowed, divided by 2. At the moment, the average salary is 7.5m per year.
SALARY CAP: The Salary Cap is officially 154M. This is determined via our Cap Calculator.
CAP FLOOR: The Cap Floor is officially 115M. This is determined via our Cap Calculator.
NOTE: The cap will change slightly every year based on our Cap Calculator.
